How far in advance should I book my wedding or large event?
Great Question! Weddings and large events can be booked up to one year in advance. It's advisable to book weddings and dessert tables at least 3 months in advance to avoid the disappointment of booked up dates. We tend to book up pretty quickly especially between April to August. If you haven't booked with us in advance, no worries! We always try to help. Just be sure to give us a call.
What information do I need to send you to achieve a quotation?
We make requesting a quotation easy peasy online. Simply visit our "quote" page and fill out the form. You can even send us an image that you've sourced online. After submission we typically respond within 72hours on light weeks via email to approve your requested date and discuss your design and costs.
Can I visit your studio?
As a private bakery, unfortunately I'm unable to host walk-in visits, however, I'd be happy to schedule an appointment with you at my earliest convenience. You can contact us here for more information. We are located in Frere Pilgrim, Christ Church; Barbados.
I just need a simple cake for the weekend, am I too late to place my order?
Not at all! I'd suggest that you visit our
cake store. We have simple but elegant cake options. Please be sure to give us a total of 72 hours so that we can beautifully provide your order. Our online store is open between Wednesday to Sunday. If you need a cake for the weekend, be sure to place your order by Wednesday or Thursday morning.
Do you provide cakes for persons with dietary restrictions?
Absolutely! We provide a yummy cruelty free menu of vegan, gluten free and soy free baked goods. Some of our treats are completely sugar free. Our speciality menu generally has a higher price point.
Do you deliver and is there a fee?
For your convenience we deliver your cakes to your door or event at no charge. In some instances, you may want to collect from our studio. Let's discuss that possibility which is only allowed for small, one tier cakes or baked goods such as donuts, cupcakes, macarons etc.
Do you ship/mail cakes?
Definitely that's a no no! We are perfectionists and need to be certain that your cakes get to your door or event as beautifully as they left our studio. We don't ever take those risks unless we are commissioned to fly out along with the cakes.
I want to go "all out" for my birthday party! When should I order my cake?
For extravagant birthday cakes we suggest that you give us 3-4 weeks to plan out your cake design, arrange quotes and collect payments. That way, your order is secured and we have time to create those over-the-top details!
Can I taste your cakes?
Absolutely! I offer tasting boxes of 4-6 flavors for weddings or large celebration cakes valued at USD $500.00 or over. Our Tasting Box is sold at a cost of USD $30.00-45.00, paid upon collection or online. This fee is then deducted from your invoice upon booking with us.
Can I choose a different flavor in each tier?
Absolutely, for grander scale cakes this is possible e.g. large two tier cakes and beyond.
How do I make a payment?
Orders are not reserved and guaranteed until a non-refundable deposit of 50% is made. For buttercream or party cakes, this payment must be made at least 2 -3 weeks prior to the event date in order to secure the space. Final Payment is required upon delivery.
On the other hand, wedding cakes and large event setups must be secured by making a 30% booking retainer coupled with 50% of the balance as a deposit at least 2 months prior to the event date. The cake contract will also be presented at this time. Final balances are made one month prior to the event date. If your cake is booked less than two months before your event date, the entire bill is due and payable on signing the agreement.
All online orders within our 72hr cake store must be paid online using a credit card or VISA debit card unless other arrangements are personally agreed upon with our head cake designer in advance.
Payments can be made by cash, company cheques, credit card or VISA debit card.
I have an image of a cake design. Can you replicate it?
We welcome inspiration from your Pinterest boards or online photos and encourage you to visit our Pinterest page for some additional ideas that inspire us. However final designs are not a carbon copy of someone else's designs but rather, designs are left up to the artistic expression of our head cake designer. We work closely with you, sometimes with the aid of sketches to ensure that the final design is exactly what you envision.
Will using 'faux tiers' reduce the cost of my wedding cake?
Not necessarily. Adding faux tiers are impactful and add drama because of the height and exuberance that they provide. When deciding on if faux tiers are right for you, consider the size of your wedding and the size of the event space that your cake is being displayed. Also, consider that the complexity of design determines the final cost so the simpler you go, the more you save while being sure to have an over-the-top display.
We love all of your cakes but can't seem to figure out what we want for our wedding or event. Can you advise us on how to prepare for a consultation?
Start by determining your overall theme, i.e. beachy, glam, black tie and so on.
Then, start researching these specific themes and cake designs on platforms like Instagram and Pinterest. You can also bring out the physical ideas that we can add to the design such as the lace on your wedding dress, your party invitations, your favorite flowers etc. Then, lets get your color swatches together so that we can really get it right! Now, you're all set to meet with us!
